Canada is the preferred destination for British expats

It has forests, lakes and great open spaces. It also has winter temperatures that will make you wince. But, according to a new survey, Canada is rated as the foreign country Britons would most like to live in, given the opportunity.
The country was seen as having the best quality of life in a survey of 1430 UK expats worldwide by NatWest International Personal Banking (NatWest IPB).
Expats living in Canada especially liked the country's peaceful nature.
They also offered a firm thumbs-up to its banking system - as well as its natural beauty, healthcare provision and education standards.

The survey revealed that expats enjoyan overall better quality of life once they move away from their country of origin.
It also reveals that around 41 percent of expa! ts in Br itain find it difficult locating somewhere to live, most find the quality of their accommodation drops after moving to Britain, and a third claim their health has deteriorated since moving there.
But the UK does hold the crown for being expat entertainment capital of the world, with over half (58 per cent) of expats in the UK saying that the quality of entertainment had increased.
