Shanghai Yuyuan Garden

Yuyuan Garden is a famous classical garden located in, Shanghai. The garden was built by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty for his parents as a place for them to enjoy time in their old age. Yu in Chinese means pleasing and satisfying. It occupies an area of 20,000 square meters (about five acres). Over the years the garden was diaplated and was repaired by the Shanghai government and opened for public in 1961.
