First Pass to Kham

Prayer flags line the road as it heads up from Kangding () to the 4,298 meter Zheduo Mountain Pass, where a stupa looks out in all directions, as if guarding against an unknown threat.

Zheduo Mountain Pass is the first pass to Kham and from here on we are undoubtedly in Tibet, if not politically then for sure geographically and ethnically.
