Two pilots who happen to be married to each other are enduring mockery from their airline colleagues after comparisons to Simon and Jackie Trent, the bickering couple who take to the skies in Matt Lucas and David Walliams' BBC comedy series Come Fly With Me.Jonathan and Debi Peskett were regarded as the ultimate high fliers by their airport colleagues until the show aired.
Since it came on television weve had non-stop ribbing, said Mrs Peskett. But I didnt become a pilot to stop my husband having affairs thank goodness.

Laughing stock: Husband and wife Captain Jonathan and Debi Peskett at the airport where their colleagues have dubbed them the 'real-life' Simon and Jackie Trent from BBC series Come Fly With MeIn the show, Jackie accompanies her husband on all flights to keep an eye on him following an indiscretion with an air stewardess.

The couple, who are both 36 and based at Cardiff airport, fly for the budget airline bmibaby. They have spent the past five years working together, with Mr Peskett as captain and his wife as first officer.

Comedy couple Simon and Jackie Trent (left) spend their time squabbling, unlike happily married husband and wife Debi and Jonathan Peskett who say there's no time for banter when you're 30,000ft up in the air

I first laid eyes on Jonathan while we were training to become pilots at Oxford Aviation Academy, said Mrs! Peskett , who lives with her husband in Rhoose, near Barry.Nothing happened until four years later when we were both in the same meeting for bmibaby then I fell head over heels. I have the opportunity to travel the world with the man I love. We have a lot in common, including luckily sharing a love for flying and travel.Mr Peskett said there was not much room for personal discussion when they were in the air. Its not like being in an office where theres time for banter plus everything we say is recorded, he said. His wife added that they had learned to take others jokes in good spirit. Ive even got Simon and Jackie as my profile picture on Facebook.
